Jo is one of Australia’s most sought-after mural painters and fine artists in street art, graffiti, abstract and impressionistic styles. Amid exhibitions, he has painted commissioned works for over 20 years, including murals and canvases, from an immense scale to smaller artworks. Jo was first exposed to graffiti and street art in New York, while living in Pittsburgh P.A in the 1980's. As he moved on to New Zealand and Australia, his obsession continued to grow into a lifestyle and career as an artist. His work is also inspired by his involvement in academia and his commitment to social inclusion and well-being. Jo’s aesthetic has been inspired by the work of other Australian graffiti artists such as SNARL and ZEN, American artists such as CHILD, the MSK AWR KOG and LTS crews and Europeans DAIM, PEETA and MOAS.
Jo has been a instrumental figure in the Sydney graffiti movement and continues to do amazing work, empowering vulnerable communities through arts and cultural initiatives.
